Hats off to Team Mazur on winning the"Springbank Men's 2023/24 Championship" as well as the Season's "Grand Aggregate Title". During the season Team Mazur went 15-3-3!
This year, the overall 1st place Mazur team met the 2nd place - Team McMullen (14-6-1) (Clare McMulen, Bob Dubray, Morley Surcon, Scott Sieppert, Larry Phillips) in a one game championship showdown. After a close back and forth game - Team Mazur clinched the title with a 8-5 victory. That was the Mazur Team's fifth Championship Title in the past 10 years. They are huge club supporters with Past Presidents - Neil Somerset, Lindsay Doiron, and Ned Mazur. In the Bronze game, Morine (14-7-0) took the Barry (12-8-1) Team 6-3.

In other Playoff News:
Grand Slam Pool: The Stewart Team (15-6-0) met Team Owen (9-9-3) for Grand Slam Pool Gold and won the game 7-2. Congrats to Harry Stewart, Gerarddo Odorizzi, Brodie Chilton, and David Belyea. In the Bronze game, Strem (9-8-4) tied Tomkiw (10-9-2) and after a super close measurement in the final end - it was determined the measurement was a tie and the teams decided to leave it at that.
Brier Pool: In the Brier Pool, Haas (11-9-1) and Saurette (9-11-1) teams faced off for gold and Haas celebrated a 6-5 Win! Congrats to Rod Haas, Roman Rigaux, Gary Horton, and Joe Frey. In the Bronze Pool game, Pennington (9-12-0) bettered the Crop Dusters (5-11-5) team 6-5 as well.
Red Rock Pool: In the Red Rock Pool gold game, the Hardrocks (7-13-1) beat Thorburn (4-14-3) and claimed gold. Congrats to Greg Hartman, Darren Wiltse, and Mike Koebel. Team Ritzer (6-12-2) took Bronze over Team Allen (4-15-1).
2023/24 Windup:
We had a very successful season in 23/24 and the annual windup had a very "party astmosphere" ! We had 64 curlers attend and were treated with a great pub style meal put on by Ben/Lisa.
Besides handing out the trohpies and crowning our champs - we had upwards to $4,000 in cash and prizes to win. There were 10 super raffle prizes to be won and not to mention the 50 door prizes - so most curlers left with something besides a full belly!
